Well this week at the club we covered rear curtain sync and here’s how NOT to do it. I thought I would share my fail with you anyway, I have done this in the past and had great results but I’m not very impressed with my effort this time. For anyone that does not know what rear curtain sync is, the camera is set to fire the flash at the end of the exposure rather that the start of the exposure which is the normal method. the effect is to capture the movement as a blur until the flash fires to freeze the movement. If anyone is interested how this is done drop me a message and I will try to explain the technicality’s and how the camera achieves this. I have done this before and fully understand the way it works but have only used it outdoors to capture moving vehicle’s and my camera has been in charge of the flash. I assumed that was how we were going to work on this, tonight we had around 12 cameras one of which was in charge of the flash so had to do a work around which I was not prepared for and didn’t have the right equipment with me so it didn’t work for me to get the quality of image I was wanting.😢
